Short answer

Yes. You can move an existing website to Ayuni Host, and free migration help is offered to make the process easier. Your domain can either be transferred to us or kept with your current registrar and simply pointed at your new hosting.

Moving your website is straightforward

Many people switching hosts are worried about losing their site or having downtime during the move. In practice, moving a website is a well-understood process, and with some planning it can be done with very little disruption to visitors in London, Lima, Berlin or anywhere else your audience is based.

Ayuni Host offers free migration help, so you do not have to work out every technical step alone.

What migration usually involves

Moving a website generally means copying your website files and database from your old host to your new hosting account, then updating DNS so visitors are directed to the new location.

  • Sign up for a shared hosting plan that fits your site, such as Starter, Business or Pro
  • Provide access details for your current host, or ask our team what is needed
  • Files and databases are copied to your new account
  • The site is tested on the new hosting before DNS is switched over
  • DNS is updated to point your domain at the new hosting once you are happy

What happens to your domain

You do not need to transfer your domain to move your website. If your domain is registered elsewhere, it can stay there and simply be pointed at your new hosting using DNS or nameserver changes. If you would prefer to manage everything in one place, you can also transfer the domain itself, which is a separate, optional step.

Avoiding downtime

The safest way to migrate is to set up and test your website on the new hosting first, while the old site is still live, and only switch DNS once everything checks out. Because DNS changes can take some time to propagate fully, keeping the old hosting active for a short overlap period helps avoid visitors seeing a gap.
